Hello Everyone,
There hasn't been a high volume of reported crime this week, but there have been a couple of concerning robberies involving the theft of gold chains. Please take a moment to read the details below and remind elderly relatives, friends and neighbours to remain vigilant when approached by strangers.
Assault - 13/06/2026- A delivery driver entered a customer's address to obtain a delivery PIN number. An altercation then took place, during which the driver was pushed from the property by the homeowner. The incident escalated into a scuffle and both parties sustained minor injuries. Neither party wished to pursue a criminal prosecution. 16/06/2026 - A man was assaulted by three individuals in Edwin Street. It is believed the incident may be linked to an ongoing dispute, with allegations that the victim had previously insulted local residents.
Theft 11/06/2026 - A boy arranged to purchase a bicycle from individuals in the street. After taking his money, the sellers failed to hand over the bike. Fortunately, the boy's mother was nearby and intervened, resulting in the money being returned.
Robbery 12/06/2026 – Whilst waiting for a bus in P.R Lane, an 80-year-old man was approached by a woman driving a black BMW who asked for directions. As a gesture of thanks, she offered him a necklace. Although the victim declined, the woman insisted. After she drove away, the victim realised that his own gold chain had been stolen. 14/06/2026 – Whilst walking from Custom House DLR, a man was approached from behind by an unknown suspect who attempted to snatch his gold chain. The victim resisted and held onto the chain, but it broke during the struggle. The suspect managed to escape with part of it.
Theft from a Person 12/06/2026 – A phone was stolen in a cycle-enabled snatch theft in Prince Regent Lane. The suspect was described as a Black male riding a black bicycle and wearing all black clothing. 16/06/2026 – A member of the public had their phone stolen by a male riding a black bicycle near the Jobcentre in Freemasons Road. The suspect was described as a Black male wearing all black clothing.
That's it for this week Please remain alert when using mobile phones in public and be cautious if approached by strangers, particularly if wearing valuable jewellery. If something doesn't feel right, trust your instincts and move to a safe, populated area. Enjoy the World Cup and drink sensibly… Win or Lose.
Until next week...
